About Frank Art Therapy

Frank Art Therapy is run by me, Helen Frank, a Masters level art therapist, registered with the national Art Therapy body, ANZACATA, and the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).

As a qualified art therapist I am dedicated to supporting and promoting the emotional well-being of every individual. With Masters Level training in therapeutic practice, I integrate evidence - based approaches with artistic expression and creative interventions.

Supporting concerns such as anxiety, stress, trauma, self - esteem and emotional regulation, I work with all members of the community, from young children through to older adults.

About Helen Frank

Prior to my Masters in Art Therapy, I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Theory (Hons) and a Bachelor of Architectural Studies that led to a career in the creative industry of film and television. I eventually took time away to raise a family, before deciding to retrain and enter the health sector that better aligned with my values regarding inclusive, ethical care. After completing a CERT IV in Allied Health Assistance with a focus on Speech Therapy, I worked with an NDIS provider in Blacktown for over three years. Experience that proved invaluable in building holistic and comprehensive care, and delivering inclusive and responsive therapeutic experiences for a variety of clients. Combined with my art therapy experience in a Sydney high - school, I have worked with a variety of individuals experiencing a range of challenges including diagnoses in ADHD and Autism, school refusal, trauma and various background and behavioural concerns.

My personal philosophy consistently prioritises playfulness, inventiveness, lateral thinking and curiosity. For the last year, I have run art classes for toddlers and preschoolers at Tiny Oaks in Northmead, and devised and implemented weekly primary art classes with a specific therapeutic framework that promoted building resilience and innovative problem solving. In 2019 I started Alphapop with my husband, producing graphically playful alphabet and number prints that encourage literacy, numeracy, and a love of learning. I have long maintained that the joy of education - in all its forms - is tethered to creativity, confidence and wellbeing.
